Open Water Mile championship!!!! 2020
It is a race, but it will also be a great day out, with scenery, spectacle, food and drink.
To be held at Oxford in the Thames, start time 11am on Sunday 6th September 2020, this is a straight mile river race. The club will be making awards by 5-year age categories.
We will follow the race with fabulous coffee and cake, other beverages are available.
After that we will meet for a picnic lunch on the banks of the river and whatever river dips take your fancy. Bring the family, the food and the drink.
This is really a fantastic addition to the Spencer calendar and your committee and coach hope for an excellent turn out on the day.

European Masters Championships 2021 new dates
According to the latest (8 May 2020) COVID-19 related update by LEN and the Organising Committee, the 2020 European Masters Championships (EMC) are now confirmed to take place 23 May – 06 June 2021.
The planned timeframe is the following:
Open water swimming: 23-24 May (at Lupa Lake, near Budapest)
Water polo: 24-29 May
Swimming: 26-31 May
Diving: 2-6 June
Artistic swimming: 2-6 June
From the organisers:
“Masters registrations and entries are automatically transferred to the later dates. On the other hand, we recognise this is a time of economic uncertainty, and if an athlete decides not to participate on the new dates, we are ready to make the refund to the registered athletes upon their request (email: email@example.com). Please note that this process may take two to three weeks.
We will keep you informed regarding the registration process for the new dates of the EMC which may start early next year. Fees already paid shall be valid for next year!
All necessary information will be posted on the Championships’ official website (www.len-budapest2020.com).
Thank you for being understanding and patient during this unprecedented situation, and we are looking forward to seeing you in 2021 in our beautiful city.”
The Organising Committee of the 19th FINA World Championships in Fukuoka and the 19th FINA World Masters Championships in Kyushu is pleased to announce that the new dates of the Championships have been finalised as stated below, after consideration following the postponement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
19th FINA World Championships 2022 Fukuoka: 13 May, 2022 – 29 May, 2022
19th FINA World Masters Championships 2022 Kyushu: 31 May, 2022 – 9 June, 2022
It has been decided that the event will take place avoiding 2021, the year of the Tokyo Olympics, thus achieving an athlete-centred schedule in its complete form, without reducing any of the disciplines or shortening the competition schedule.
We will continue to exert our utmost efforts to prepare for the Championships to meet the expectations of the many athletes and sports fans longing for the opening of the event, and to make it a great success.
Spencer Swim Team has a strong history of success and we compete locally, nationally and internationally throughout the year. We have often won the Cupar Cup for the Top Team at the GB Long Course nationals and have a number of World, European and British records for relays across the age groups. For advice on entering meets feel free to make contact with coaches, colleagues or the Team Manager.
