Spencer’s senior ladies came home from the Swim Wales Nationals in Swansea at the weekend with 4 shiny British records. Di Ford and Muriel Hitchcock broke their own records in the 50 breast, while Di also knocked 7 seconds off her 200 breast time.
Together with Grace Isaac and Jean HJ they set a British record in the 320+ 4×50 medley team, just tenths outside the European Record. This is the first time that this relay age group has been swum in the UK, and Spencer now holds the long course 4×50 medley records for 240+, 280+ and 320+. Amazingly, Jean HJ swam the freestyle leg in all three record breaking teams.
Here’s hoping that this is a good sign for the GB Nationals which will be back in Swansea in June.
