Today was the the last distance meet in the old Barnet Copthall pool and Grace, Muriel, Di and Jean made it a memorable occasion with 3 European short course records in the relays. They broke the European records for 320-359 4×100 freestyle and 4×100 medley, both by over a minute, and they were the first team in Europe in that age group (average age of 80) to swim a 4×200 free, thus setting the record.
The 4×100 medley was only a few seconds shy of the World Record.
The new pool is nearing completion and will be ready for the Barnet Sprint Meet in September (see competition calendar).
